Small Business Week honors year-round efforts to grow Oklahoma
One of the most meaningful efforts I’ve had the privilege of being part of this session was House Bill 1600, now known as the Lori Brand Patient Bill of Rights. This measure stands as both a major step forward for patient rights in Oklahoma and a deeply personal tribute to a life well-lived.
“An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth…,” is a useful starting place for discussion of the influence of Pope Francis, who throughout proved to be a remarkably active and activist leader of the Roman Catholic Church.
The Senate just passed the second committee deadline of this legislative session. April 24 marked the final day for House bills to advance out of Senate committees.
Here at the Capitol, springtime doesn’t just bring warmer weather, it also brings a flurry of legislative activity as we work hard to move important bills across the finish line. I’m happy to report that we’ve just passed a major milestone in that process, Senate Bills and Resolutions have now cleared their oversight, rules and appropriations committees.
Earlier this month my office opened the nomination process for the Attorney General’s 2025 Oklahoma Officer of the Year Award. My office launched the initiative last year to recognize the best and brightest law enforcement professionals in our state.
