HYDRO – Briar Turman pitched a perfect five-inning game while striking out nine as the fourth-ranked Dale Pirates blanked Navajo 8-0 Saturday to capture the championship of the Hydro-Eakly Tournament.
LITTLE AXE – The trio of Maddox Davis, Luke Quinter and Gavin Lynch helped rally the Bethel Wildcats to a 48-41 season-opening football victory last Friday night over the Little Axe Indians.
Shawnee came into Tuesday night’s game with 5A No. 7 Duncan after a week of struggling while senior libero Kylie Moore was out with an illness. The Lady Wolves lost two matches last week and dropped from No. 9 to No. 12 in the 5A rankings.
