PERKINS - Jace Plumb pitched a one-hitter over four innings and Hunter Bertram had a 3-for-3 performance from the plate with a double, two runs batted in, three runs scored and a walk on Tuesday as the North Rock Creek Cougars popped Perkins-Tryon 13-0 in five innings Tuesday in summer baseball play. Plumb struck out seven and gave up no walks in working the first four frames.
RED OAK - The North Rock Creek Lady Cougars won four of six games during a two-day span of Monday and Tuesday at the Red Oak Summer Camp. NRC 11, Broken Bow 0 (Monday, Game 1) Madison Benson fired a four-inning two-hit shutout while Ashlyn Bade went 2-for-3 from the plate with a double and two runs batted in as the Lady Cougars blitzed Broken Bow.
Dale's Denton Forsythe was named the 2A Player of the Year and the Henry Iba Small School Player of the Year Saturday at the 2A-3A All State game at Hamilton Field House on the UCO Campus, while Retired Dale Coach Jeff Edmonson was named the Small School Coach of the Year. Edmonson led the Pirates to four straight 2A state titles before retiring this spring.

It wasn’t as easy as Game 1, but the Potawatomi Fire got the job done Saturday in Game 2 by upending the Logansport Iron Horses (Ind.) 134-109 to capture The Basketball League’s Midwest Conference championship Saturday night at FireLake Arena. The win came after Potawatomi blitzed Logansport 160-90 on Thursday in Game 1.
