Late second-quarter surge ignites Fire to Game 1 win over Enid

ENID - After edging the Enid Outlaws by one point in the regular season road finale just one week prior, the Potawatomi Fire used a late second-quarter surge to pull away for a 122-98 victory in Game 1 of a best-of-three first-round series Thursday night in The Basketball League (TBL) playoffs at Stride Bank Arena. Down 40-39 with 5:51 to go before halftime, the Fire closed the second quarter with a massive 14-2 run and then scored the first seven points in the third period to coast the rest of the way against a team which fell 116-115 to Potawatomi on May 22 at Stride Bank Arena.

Thunder advances to NBA finals

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Thunder is the NBA Western Conference champion and has advanced to the NBA Finals after defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves, 124-94, Wednesday night, winning the series 4-1. With its second NBA Finals appearance, the Thunder will now play the winner of the Eastern Conference finals series matchup between the Indiana Pacers and the New York Knicks.

Potawatomi Fire burns up CYM to conclude regular season

In a nearly unbelievable statistical outcome Saturday afternoon, the Potawatomi Fire burned up the Creating Young Minds (CYM) Leopards 133-97 at FireLake Arena to close out the 2025 regular season in The Basketball League. Potawatomi, the two-time defending TBL champion, managed to knock down only one 3-point shot in 16 attempts for the game for an anemic 6.2% result.
