Week 4 of the high school football season means district time for many teams and will feature two area clashes involving Tri-County area teams. The Bethel Wildcats will visit the Meeker Bulldogs while the McLoud Redskins visit the North Rock Creek Cougars.
Here are the outstanding performances from Tri-County area football standouts from Week 3 of the high school season: Garrett Chaffin, Tecumseh Chaffin carried the ball nine times for 121 yards and two touchdowns on offense and totaled nine tackles on defense in the Savages’ 40-14 victory over McLoud.
After a slow start, the North Rock Creek Lady Cougars came back from a 3-1 deficit to win 11-3 over the Davenport Lady Bulldogs in five innings on Tuesday night. The Lady Cougars finally got their bats going in the bottom of the third when Hailey Hacker smacked a single.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Darius Slay had no idea James Harden was rooting on the Eagles from a seat near the sideline until he saw the Philadelphia 76ers star on the big screen. So what did Slay do? The Philadelphia Eagles cornerback ran over to Harden and gifted him the first ball of his two interceptions against Minnesota.
TECUMSEH – The Senior trio of Piper Goodson, Chloe Kelsey and Koree Thompson fueled the Tecumseh High School volleyball squad to a three-set sweep of Noble Tuesday night. The Lady Savages won the three sets by scores of 25-14, 2725 and 25-10.
MAUD – Amerikus Street hit a three-run homer in the third inning and Reese Street, Linzy Collins and Janlee Impson each had two hits as the Maud Lady Tigers trounced Wewoka 10-1 on Monday. Reese Street went 2-for-2 with a triple, one RBI and two runs scored.
After securing a one-run victory at Glenpool Monday, the Shawnee Lady Wolves were on the downside at home Tuesday in 12 innings by a 2-1 count. Glenpool’s winning run came in the top of the 12th when a throw toward home from the third base area hit the runner in the back.
The Shawnee Wolves play their third straight home game Thursday, but earning their first victory won’t be an easy one. Shawnee hosts unbeaten Bishop McGuinness at Jim Thorpe Stadium to open District 5A-2 play at 7 p.m.
