The Dale Lady Pirates opened play in their own Dale Festival Thursday with a 9-5 victory over Shattuck and a 6-4 triumph over Kremlin-Hillsdale at the Ballfields at Firelake. Dale 9, Shattuck 5 Karsen Griggs homered and doubled in a 3-for-4 performance with five runs batted in and two runs scored while Gracee Waller tripled, knocked in three runs and drew a walk in a 3-for-3 effort as the Lady Pirates pounded out 14 hits.
DURANT – The host Durant Lady Lions rallied with two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to register a 3-2 decision over the Shawnee Lady Wolves on Thursday. An RBI triple, followed by a run-scoring single, was the difference for Durant.
The Shawnee Wolves will be attempting to shed turnover and penalty problems as they entertain the Blanchard Lions Friday at 7 p.m. at Jim Thorpe Stadium.
