TECUMSEH – Tecumseh High School volleyball seniors Piper Goodson and Chloe Kelsey were named to the All-Tournament Team at the Community Christian School Tournament held in Norman this past weekend.

MAUD – The Maud Lady Tigers were limited to one hit as they dropped a 6-0 home decision to Moss Friday afternoon. Maud’s lone hit came from Linzy Collins.
Mike Gundy is the only Big 12 head coach still around from the last time the conference was going through so much change. That a little more than a decade ago, about the time Oklahoma State won its only championship in the league.
KINGFISHER – North Rock Creek’s Jordan Coody and Kadence Munn each had second-place finishes in the Kingfisher Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. Coody clocked in at 16:41.53 in the 5,000-meter boys race while Munn posted a time of 13:06.88 in the 3,200-meter girls event.
MUSTANG – Meeker senior Riley Randall registered a time of 16:24.56 and won the 5k Mustang Broncos Harrier Invitational on Saturday. Randall’s time was better than anyone in Classes 2A-6A.

LUTHER – The Prague Red Devils, behind the running of Trevor McGinnis and Aiden Auld, and the passing of Rex Gieser rolled to a 21-14 season-opening victory over the Luther Lions Friday night. McGinnis carried the ball 27 times for 168 yards while Auld netted 79 yards and 16 carries and had short touchdown runs of 2 and 3 yards.
Sports Editor bjohnson@news-star.com The Deer Creek Lady Antlers took the bat out of the hands of Shawnee’s Anneca Anderson three times Saturday. But the third time proved to be a charm for the Lady Wolves as they rallied for a 3-2 victory to wrap up play in the Shawnee Tournament at the Ballfields at Firelake.
ROFF – The Bethel Lady Wildcats wrapped up play Saturday with a thirdplace finish in the Roff Tournament. In Saturday action, Bethel fell to Cyril 2-0, but bounced back with two straight wins over Davis (4-3) and Sulphur (3-2), before dropping a 10-7 decision to Tupelo to conclude play.
