FORT COBB – The Dale Pirates, behind an eight-run third inning and six-run fourth, rolled to an 18-13 victory over host Fort Cobb-Broxton on Monday. Dayton Forsythe hit a two home runs, including one grand slam in the fourth inning, in finishing 3-for-5 from the plate with seven runs batted in.
Four unearned runs in the top of the second inning set the tone as the Glenpool Warriors clipped the Shawnee Wolves 7-3 Saturday in the regular-season finale at Memorial Park’s Ed Skelton Field. Shawnee dipped to 15-17 on the season and concluded district play with a 9-5 mark.
BETHEL ACRES – The Bethel Wildcats rallied with four runs in the top of the seventh inning to win a best 2-of-3 district playoff series against Kellyville, 5-2, on Friday. Kellyville held a 2-0 lead through five innings before Bryce Tapley got Bethel on the board with a one-out solo-homer.
Oklahoma Baptist won twice more against Southern Nazarene on Saturday afternoon at Bobby Cox Field at Ford Park. The green and gold won by 6-3 and 16-1 scores on a 70-degree day while boosting its record to 26-20 and 18-15 in the Great American Conference.
PIEDMONT – Shawnee High School’s Mirakle Blackshire won the 200-meter dash and high jump, while placing high in two other events Friday at the Suburban Conference Track Meet at Piedmont High School.
North Rock Creek senior Noah McMullan signed a letter of intent on Friday to play basketball at Oklahoma City University. McMullan is the first player to sign a letter of intent from the young boys’ basketball program at North Rock Creek.
A late Tevin Foster 3-point jumper was off the mark as the Enid Outlaws escaped with a 90-87 victory Sunday over the Potawatomi Fire in The Basketball League action at Firelake Arena. The Fire fell to 12-4 in TBL’s Central Division while Enid improved to 13-3.
Oklahoma Baptist wrapped up the regular season with a sweep of Henderson State on Saturday, besting the Reddies 2-0 and 4-2 at Bison Softball Park. With 31 overall wins, including 19 conference victories, the Bison completed their best regular season since joining Division II.
