Dale’s Rector, Shawnee’s Rogers Co-Male Athletes of the Week

Dale High School baseball standout Tate Rector and Shawnee High School baseball star Kasen Rogers have been selected as Shawnee News-Star Tri-County Area Male Co-Athletes of the Week for April 18-23. North Rock Creek freshman track team member Caitlin Walls was named Tri-County Area Female Athlete of the Week Rector pitched two shutout victories and batted .750 over a four-game span as Dale went 2-2 in games last week.

Curry, Warriors hold off Jokic, eliminate Nuggets in Game 5

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Back in the starting lineup at last, Stephen Curry took over late and brought his team back just as he has so many times during Golden State’s deep postseason runs. Curry scored 30 points in his return to the starting five and the Warriors beat Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets 102-98 on Wednesday night to end their first-round series in five games.

Professional golf coming to Shawnee Country Club

All Pro Tour (APT) has partnered with Grand Casino Hotel & Resort, US Foods® and Boomarang Diner to bring The Grand Casino Open, presented by US Foods®, a professional-level golf tournament, to central Oklahoma. The event will include a pro-am, special events and a 72-hole championship. The tournament will be a pre-qualifier to the AT&T Byron Nelson Tournament, which is expected to have over $8 million in winnings.
