Tecumseh sweeps two-game district from Bethel

TECUMSEH – Tecumseh’s Jessi Hull had a big day from the plate and kept Bethel off the scoreboard in posting a two-game sweep on the way to a Class 5A slow pitch district championship on Thursday. Hull was 4-for-4 from the plate, drew two walks and allowed just five total Bethel hits in a two-game span as the Lady Savages (21-7) blanked the Lady Wildcats by identical scores of 10-0.

Rangers’ Jon Gray headed to injured list with knee sprain

SEATTLE (AP) — The Texas Rangers will be without starting pitcher Jon Gray for at least one start after he suffered a left knee sprain, general manager Chris Young said Thursday. Gray, a former Chandler High School standout and Oklahoma Sooner, will go on the injured list Friday and right-hander Glenn Otto is expected to be brought up from Triple-A Round Rock to start Friday night against Oakland in the opener of a three-game series.
