STUART - Tate Rector had a magnificent performance from the mound and at the plate Friday as the Dale Pirates shut out host Stuart 9-0 in six innings. Rector pitched all six innings and allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out three.
DALE – Karsen Griggs, Addie Bell and Sam Hartman each slammed a homer as the Dale Lady Pirates completed a Class 4A district doubleheader sweep with an 18-1 rout of Crooked Oak in just 2 ½ innings last Thursday.

The Tulsa Memorial Lady Chargers blanked Shawnee 3-0 and the Tulsa Memorial boys claimed a 2-0 decision in the later match in soccer action Friday night at Jim Thorpe Stadium. It was the home finale for the Lady Wolves and Wolves as they celebrated Senior Night. Shawnee was scheduled to play at Tulsa Kelley Monday night.

Hull was 4-for-4 from the plate, drew two walks and allowed just five total Bethel hits in a two-game span as the Lady Savages (21-7) blanked the Lady Wildcats by identical scores of 10-0.

SEATTLE (AP) — The Texas Rangers will be without starting pitcher Jon Gray for at least one start after he suffered a left knee sprain, general manager Chris Young said Thursday. Gray, a former Chandler High School standout and Oklahoma Sooner, will go on the injured list Friday and right-hander Glenn Otto is expected to be brought up from Triple-A Round Rock to start Friday night against Oakland in the opener of a three-game series.
