SEATTLE (AP) — The Texas Rangers will be without starting pitcher Jon Gray for at least one start after he suffered a left knee sprain, general manager Chris Young said Thursday. Gray, a former Chandler High School standout and Oklahoma Sooner, will go on the injured list Friday and right-hander Glenn Otto is expected to be brought up from Triple-A Round Rock to start Friday night against Oakland in the opener of a three-game series.
SEMINOLE – Three members of the Chandler High School girls’ golf team placed in the top 10 of the recent 66 Conference Tournament at the Jimmie Austin Golf Course. The senior trio of Delaney Haley, Kenzie Cowden and Caroline McCalip finished in the top 10.
PRAGUE – It took three games to do it, but the Prague Lady Red Devils captured a Class 4A district slow pitch title against the Davis Lady Wolves on Thursday. Prague drilled Davis 14-1 in the district opener, but fell to the Lady Wolves in the second game, 8-5.
JONES – The Shawnee Wolves jumped on the Jones Longhorns with two first-inning runs, but went scoreless the rest of the way in dropping a 10-2 decision on Thursday. Shawnee, 10-12 on the season, totaled seven hits, but couldn’t overcome seven errors.
