Chieftains face few obstacles in sweep

RIPLEY — Ady Custer swatted two home runs and accumulated six runs batted in Monday as Prague drilled Ripley 12-2. Custer launched her assault in the first inning with a two-run home run after Demi Manning’s RBI triple.
CHANDLER — Tecumseh gave up five-run innings in the second and fifth Monday en route to a 12-9 setback to Chandler. Tecumseh was outhit 13-8 and committed three errors to six for the Lions.
MEEKER — Ada recorded 11 base on balls to go along with 10 hits Monday in defeating Meeker 16-5. Seven of Ada’s runs were unearned as Meeker made four errors.

PRYOR – Easton Odell pitched a five-hitter and was backed by 11 Shawnee hits as the Wolves trounced Tahlequah 9-1 Friday in the Pryor Tiger/Claremore Zebra Shootout. Odell struck out four and surrendered just one walk as 47 of his 79 pitches went for strikes.

Camden Sateren tallied two goals and Matt Gasca collected two assists Friday as the Shawnee Wolves shut out the McLoud Redskins in boys’ soccer action at Jim Thorpe Stadium. In the girls’ match, the Shawnee Lady Wolves came away with a shutout as well, 3-0.
ROFF – Kash Van Brunt and Connor Kuykendall racked up three hits apiece Saturday as the Dale Pirates trounced Tupelo 10-2 in six innings for third place in the Roff Tournament. Van Brunt went 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI, one run scored and a walk while Kuykendall finished 3-for-5 with a double, two runs batted in and a run scored.
CHISHOLM – The North Rock Creek boys’ track team, behind firstplace finishes from Maddox Motley and Jordan Coody, won the Chisholm Meet on Friday. Motley posted a time of 15.62 seconds to win the 110-meter hurdles, edging out teammate Ethan Nowakowski, who ended up third with a time of 16.68.
PURCELL – Brogan Culwell worked all six innings for a six-hitter Saturday as the Asher Indians clipped the Bethel Wildcats 8-1 for the consolation title of the Purcell Heart of Oklahoma Classic. Culwell allowed four walks and struck out four as the lone Bethel run was earned.
Serenity Jacoway and Samantha Schweighardt each clubbed a home run Friday as the Tecumseh Lady Savages slammed Sterling 10-0 in four innings to complete play in the Dale Festival at the Ballfields at Firelake.
