TECUMSEH —A nail-biting 3-2 victory over Harrah and a 12-0 run-rule triumph over Bethel raised Tecumseh’s record to 8-3 Monday. In the opener against Harrah, Tecumseh took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on singles by Serenity Jacoway, Bristin Hayes, Katelyn Fleming (RBI), Jessi Hull and Lauren Taylor.
The Potawatomi Fire needed a bounce-back victory and Deshawn Munson and company followed through Saturday night at the Firelake Arena. Fresh off a 103-94 home loss to the Enid Outlaws Friday night, the Fire rebounded in a big way Saturday, placing seven players in double figures and rolling to a 119-99 rout of the Little Rock Lightning.
In a clash of area titans on Friday, the Dale Lady Pirates, behind a sevenrun fifth inning, rallied to defeat the North Rock Creek Lady Cougars 10-7 in the Harrah Tournament at the Ballfields at Firelake.
A walk-off win via error in game two helped Oklahoma Baptist complete a three-game sweep over Arkansas Tech on Saturday in Great American Conference play. The Bison improved to 14-13 overall and 10-8 in the GAC after 7-4 and 2-1 victories over the Wonder Boys.
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – A two-run Jocee Sparks home run in the fourth gave Oklahoma Baptist the push it longed for as the Bison edged Arkansas Tech 2-1 in the series finale on Saturday afternoon.
OKLAHOMA CITY – The Shawnee High School girls’ tennis team, behind a 3-0 run by its No. 2 doubles team, took third place Saturday in the Western Heights Tournament.
WAYNE – Makinzie Odell, Payton Leba and Alexis Johnston each hit an inside-the-park home run Friday as the Asher Lady Indians smashed Western Heights 15-3 to wrap up play in the Wayne Festival. Odell finished 2-for-2 with the three-run, inside-the-park home run effort in the third inning.
The Tecumseh Lady Savages wrapped up play in the Harrah Tournament Friday by going 1-1 in games being played at the Ballfields at Firelake. Tecumseh opened play Friday with an 11-5 triumph over Harrah before falling to Shattuck 15-12.
HENRYETTA – Kennedi Watkins surrendered just one hit in three innings while Kinsey Rice and Jaylee Friend each homered Friday as the Prague Lady Red Devils routed Kiefer 20-0 in the Creek Classic. Watkins allowed no walks and managed a strikeout.
NOBLE – Alesandro Sciaretta scored two goals and assisted on another as the Shawnee High School boys’ soccer team shut out Ardmore 3-0 Saturday for third place in the Noble Tournament. Sciaretta opened the scoring in the 16th minute when he scored off a cross from Cruz Merrell.
