The North Rock Creek Lady Cougars opened the 2025 slow-pitch softball season with three straight victories Thursday, one of which was an extremely close call, in the North Rock Creek Festival at the Ballfields at Firelake. NRC upended Jenks 8-4 and then rallied big to edge Drummond 8-7 before slamming Seminole 18-3 to wrap up the perfect 3-0 day.

DAVENPORT – The Bethel Lady Wildcats pounded out 26 hits over two games in securing a pair of wins Thursday over Davenport 3-2 and Prue 18-3. Bethel 3, Davenport 2 (Game 1) All three runs came in the fourth inning after the Lady Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead.

DEPEW – Cashmon Creacy posted a 2-for-3 performance from the plate with one double, three runs batted in and two runs scored as the Meeker Bulldogs popped Porter 12-5 for the consolation title Saturday of the Depew Tournament.

The Dale Lady Pirates got off to a 3-0 start in the North Rock Creek Festival on Thursday and Friday with decisions of 13-0 over Lindsay, 5-2 over Cache and 11-1 over Norman North before falling to Tushka 13-11. Dale went to 4-1 on the season after finishing play in the NRC Festival.
BATTIEST – The Asher Indians opened play in the Battiest Tournament by outlasting Kiowa 17-15 on Thursday but dropped their next two games to Valliant 9-4 on Friday and Boswell 6-1 on Saturday. Asher 17, Kiowa 15 (Thursday) Raygan Kuhlman registered a 4-for-5 performance form the plate with three doubles, three runs batted in, four runs scored and a walk as the Indians pounded out 12 hits and overcame four errors.

There were a lot of memorable moments when the North Rock Creek Cougars squared off with Weatherford in a 4A State Semifinal game in the final year in “The Big House” - Jim Norick Arena on the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. North Rock Creek’s amazing first half, incredible shooting and ability to face adversity all stood out.

ALTUS – It was another explosive outing for the Potawatomi Fire Sunday as they rolled to a 146-75 rout of the host Western Oklahoma Skykings in The Basketball League (TBL). The Fire scorched the nets by shooting 52.2% from the field, 39.2% from long range and 93.8% (30-of-32) from the foul line.

It was a night when many things were clicking for the Potawatomi Fire against their arch-rivals Enid Outlaws on Friday in The Basketball League (TBL) at FireLake Arena. Three Potawatomi players – Chuck Guy, Ricky Artis II and Deshawn Munson– recorded double-doubles, six more scored in double figures, they shot 52.4% from the floor as a team, held a convincing 71-53 rebounding advantage and executed to the point where they racked up 36 assists on 55 made baskets in rolling to a 150-94 rout of Enid.
