To say the Shawnee High School baseball program will be youthful in 2025 is a mild understatement. The Wolves have no seniors, three juniors, three sophomores and 11 freshmen to make up the varsity squad, something that second-year head coach Jeff Shafer has never experienced as a high school head coach.
JENKS – Two winning relays and a first-place effort by senior Gracyn Simpson was enough to fuel the Shawnee Lady Wolves to another Class 5A State Swimming Championship on Tuesday at the Jenks Aquatic Center. Shawnee posted a team score of 273, followed by Carl Albert at 240, Altus at 224 and Tulsa Bishop Kelley at 186.
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist softball players Jaycee Shaffer and Greenlee Wells were selected as Great American Conference Pitcher and Player of the Week on Tuesday.
The Liberty Academy High School girls’ basketball team won a 1A HCAA Regional Championship at home on Feb. 8.
McLOUD – The McLoud Lady Redskins head into the 2025 slow-pitch softball season with experience and a bit of momentum after going 19-11 last year. “We return a lot of experience from last season,” said McLoud Head Coach Josh Ray.
BETHEL ACRES – The Bethel Wildcat baseball program will be under new leadership and return only two starters for the 2025 season. Gary Bandy takes over with the help of assistant coaches Hunter Pinkston, Kyle Childers and Jake Williams.
Lack of experience should not be a problem for the 2025 North Rock Creek baseball squad. Twelve returning players were in the starting lineup last season, including five seniors, five juniors and a pair of sophomores for a team which posted a 24-8 record and reached a Class 4A Super Regional.
Losing five four-year starters out of the lineup might make some coaches cringe. Not Chance Griffin.
TECUMSEH - With a long-awaited slow-pitch state championship in their hip pocket, the Tecumseh Lady Savages will be seeking a repeat this spring. Coach Perry Wilson has nine returning starters back after the team finished 32-9 and made a clean run through the Class 5A State Championship bracket in 2024.
DALE - After a state slow-pitch runner-up finish in Class 4A during the 2024 campaign, the Dale Lady Pirates are seeking to take that next step this spring. Dale, 33-9 a year ago, welcomes back five returning starters, all of whom made massive contributions to their success last season.
