Deep freeze: Winter blast impacts area, roads
A frigid winter blast that brought sleet and snow Tuesday resulted in icy-covered roadways across the area on Tuesday and Wednesday. And with near zero temps again overnight, slick conditions are likely to continue today.

Shaffer strikes out 12 as OBU blanks Fort Hays State
Oklahoma Baptist’s Jaycee Shaffer fanned a career-high 12 as the Bison defeated Fort Hays State 2-0 on Friday at FireLake Ball Park. After that win, OBU fell to Washburn 10-1 to move its record to 5-7.

OBU Theatre to present award-nominated musical 'Dreamers' at regional festival
Oklahoma Baptist University’s Theatre Department is set to bring its acclaimed production, Dreamers: A Depression-Era Musical Fairytale, back to the stage before taking it on the road to the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) Region 6 Conference. The musical, with book, music, and lyrics by OBU creative writing major and theatre minor Elena Streett, will be performed at OBU’s Sarkeys Black Box Theatre on Feb.

High-scoring effort helps OBU men defeat host NWOSU
ALVA – Oklahoma Baptist University secured a hard-fought 98-87 victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday at Percefull Fieldhouse. A dominant second half fueled the Bison’s win, with standout performances from Terry Coner Jr.

Shawnee Baseball proudly welcomed four new members into its Hall of Fame during the annual banquet held on Thursday, February 13, at Gordon Cooper Technology Center. The event brought together over 100 attendees to celebrate the rich history and accomplishments of Shawnee baseball while honoring the newest inductees: Dwight Atchley, David Porter, Jim Robertson, and Larry James.
