The Shawnee Lions are gearing up for its major annual  fundraising event “Chili Feast” to be held Friday, February 26 at First Baptist Church, 227 N. Union.  They will be serving lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and supper from 5 to 7 p.m. New this year is a vegetarian chili option.


Tickets, which cost $7 for adults and $4 for children under 10 are available from any Lion Club member or at the door.

In the last few years, Shawnee Lions spent more than $36,000 in projects to benefit the community, including new eyeglasses for the needy, electronic scoreboards and a new Lion water fountain for Lions Club Park, support for Oklahoma Lions Boys Ranch and Meadows of Hope Homes, The Salvation Army, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Shawnee Police Foundation, Project Graduation, Red Cross, Pottawatomie County Historical Society, and many other programs.
