A Tecumseh man charged with attempted robbery by force and fear was found guilty and sentenced to serve 14 years in prison following his jury trial.

A Tecumseh man charged with attempted robbery by force and fear was found guilty and sentenced to serve 14 years in prison following his jury trial.

Joseph Bill Nichols, 35, stood trial in Pottawatomie County District Court.

The jury deliberated an hour and 11 minutes before returning the guilty verdict.

They jury suggested he serve 14 years in prison, with formal sentence served, court records show.

He will remain jailed in the Pottawatomie County Public Safety Center until he is transferred to the Department of Corrections.
