The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that a Yukon man was killed in an accident along westbound Interstate 40 near McLoud.
That accident occurred about 10:23 a.m. Monday just west of Fishmarket Raod.
Joe McBroom, 45 of Yukon, died as a result of the accident, the OHP said.
A 2012 Chevrolet 2500 pickup driven by McBroom struck the back of a 2004 semi driven by Carlton Presgraves, 43, Oklahoma City.
The patrol said the semi was stopped for traffic, when, for unknown reasons, McBroom's pickup struck the back of the semi without braking or deceleration.
McBroom, who was transported to the Medical Examiner's office in Oklahoma City, was pronounced dead at the scene from internal head and chest injuries.
Presgraves was taken by REACT EMS ambulance to St. Anthony Shawnee Hospital in Oklahoma City, where he was treated for back injuries and released, the OHP said.
Unsafe speed was listed as cause of the collision. Numerous troopers worked that crash scene, along with McLoud police and fire departments and ODOT.
