Katherine Barclay Schunk went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, May 1, 2016, in Shawnee at the age of 95.

Katherine was born on April 29, 1921, to Fred and Della Moss in Joplin, Missouri. She was raised one of five children and attended school in Carl Junction, Missouri.

In August of 1940, she married George Franklin Barclay, and they moved to Tulsa where they made their home.

Katherine was a homemaker her entire life and dedicated herself totally to her family.

George passed away in 1980, and Katherine continued to live in Tulsa until 2009, when she moved to Shawnee. Katherine then lived at Legacy Park, where she enjoyed friendships with her neighbors and taking part in Legacy Park activities such as Bingo, birthday celebrations and pot-luck dinners.

Katherine was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her flowerbeds, shopping, dining out, and was a true Oklahoma City Thunder fan — she seldom missed watching a game. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always delighting in each one, their activities and accomplishments.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

Her survivors include daughter: Phyllis Sullins of Shawnee; daughter and son-in-law: Donna and Mike Tonubbee of Shawnee; grandsons: Brad West and wife, Diane, of Shawnee, Bart West and wife, Kim, of Shawnee; granddaughter: Sabrina West of Shawnee; granddaughter: Nicole Tolbert and husband, Kaz, of Davis; and grandson: Daniel Tonubbee and wife, Libby, of Shawnee. Her great-grandchildren are Nash Tolbert, Aspyn Tolbert, Katelyn Tonubbee, Addyson Tonubbee, Penelope Tonubbee, and Delanie West.

Service was at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, at Walker Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Williams officiating. Burial was at Memorial Park in Tulsa.
