McLoud’s annual Blackberry Festival means a chance for the McLoud Public Library and Pioneer Library System to show off one of its newest resources.

The PLS Maker Mobile will be part of the annual Blackberry Festival Parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2, and afterward will be stationed on the Blackberry Festival grounds at McLoud High School.

The vehicle is a mobile maker space, featuring many science and technology education items, including a three-dimensional printer and scanner, CNC milling machine, laser cutter and laptops, as well as Wi-Fi access and an informational touchscreen television that will allow customers to learn about the library’s downloadable collection through OverDrive and many other online features.

So staff can participate in the festival and help with the Maker Mobile activities, the library itself will be closed Saturday, July 2.

The library also will be closed Sunday and Monday, July 3 and 4 for the holiday, and reopens for its normal hours, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 5.
