Kermit was born in Shawnee to Donna (Heusel) and Paul Milburn.

Kermit was born in Shawnee to Donna (Heusel) and Paul Milburn. After graduating from Shawnee High in 1977, he attended ORU and later OSU, completing a finance degree. He earned a Juris Doctorate from OU and practiced law in Oklahoma City and Shawnee for more than 30 years.

He achieved an Eagle Scout designation, attended Boys State, was a member of the OSU Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, was the founder of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Pottawatomie and Seminole Counties, served on the Shawnee City Commission, 2001-2002; was president of the Pottawatomie County Bar Association, 2001; served as board member for Faith 7 Activity Center Sheltered Workshop, and was Shawnee YMCA President and Board member, 1996-1999.

From a very young age Kermit walked with the Lord, providing comfort to those around him, which he continued to do for the rest of his life. He loved all of his family beyond words, cherished his church community group, was a history buff, and enjoyed being in the mountains and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Taprina, of 27 years; their son Brenner, daughter and son-in-law Aubrey and Donnie Ashburn, Edmond; mother Donna Antosh, Keller, Texas; father and step-mother Paul and Ann Milburn, Shawnee; sister and brother-in-law Paula and Mark Miller, Keller, Texas; father and mother-in-law Carlis and Clovis Cobb, Luther; and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, aunts, lifelong friends, as well as the Milburn Law and Woodlake Properties family.

A celebration of Kermit’s life will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 11, at Henderson Hills Baptist Church, 1200 E I-35 Frontage Road, Edmond. Services are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond.
