Asher Public Schools has been awarded a grant from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation's (ODOT) Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP). Total funding for the project is $296,000.
Federal funds will be contributing $236,000 and the Avedis Foundation is donating the remaining $59,200 for the Asher Schools Trails Project.
Asher Schools Trails Project will include a ¼ mile long, 10-foot wide walking trail.
“This project allows the kids a place for outdoor physical education,” Asher Public Schools Superintendent Terry Grissom said. “Additionally, it gives the community a place to exercise.”
