Betty Jean Rollins Loper, 87, passed away Aug. 25, 2016. She was born on Sept. 29, 1928, in Perkins, Oklahoma, to George Washington Rollins and Lillian Rachel Galusha Rollins.
Betty Jean and her brothers and sisters were raised in Perkins, where she attended school and was a regular at the First United Methodist Church. Betty Jean married the “love of her life” Lee Roy Loper on July 17, 1959, in Del City, Oklahoma. Their first home was in OKC, where Lee worked for Tinker Air Force Base. Later they moved to Shawnee where they resided till Lee’s death in 2006.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Loper; parents: Lillie and George Rollins; sister, Geneva Morrow; brothers: Earnest, Kenneth, Howard, Cecil and Raymond; and step-son, Leslie Loper.
She is survived by sisters Georgia Chance and Emma Smith; and brother, Bill Rollins.
Betty Jean will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Sharon Baptist Church with Pastor Clint Dawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
