The McLoud Police Department, along with the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Warrant Team, which includes members of several law enforcement agencies, conducted a local warrant sweep in the cities of McLoud and Shawnee on Aug. 28.
The search for persons who have avoided paying citations that have resulted in the issuance of a warrant was conducted in the early morning hours.
Those located were brought to the McLoud Municipal Court and given the opportunity to pay their bond. Those who could not or would not pay were taken to the Pottawatomie County Public Safety Center.
This effort successfully concludes Phase 2 of a four-phase operation. Phase 3 is now in the planning stages.
City leaders said anyone who suspects or knows they may have warrant with McLoud can contact the Municipal Court to pay the bond or set a court date. To avoid arrest, those with warrants may go to the court window at the McLoud Police Department and pay their fine or bond in full.
