Nancy Sullivan, 72, of Bethel Acres, passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at her home.

Nancy Sullivan, 72, of Bethel Acres, passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at her home.

She was born Nov. 15, 1943, to W.O. and Edith Lanell (Gilkenson) McNew in Shawnee.

Nancy was raised in Bethel Acres and attended Bethel Public Schools.

She married Larry Sullivan on March 24, 1962, at the First Church of God in Shawnee.

Nancy worked in a daycare for a short time, but stayed busy as a housewife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and Thunder basketball. She loved going to ballgames, especially, football and basketball games and loved attending her grandchildren’s ballgames. She enjoyed canning and was known for her canned pickles. She enjoyed getting out and about.

She was preceded in death by her parents, W.O. and Edith McNew.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 54½ years, Larry Sullivan of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Quint and Wanda Sullivan of Yukon, and Travis and Misty Sullivan of Shawnee; two daughters, Tracey and LeRoy Beals of Newalla, and Bridget Sullivan of Shawnee; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and two on the way; three brothers, Tim McNew, Bobby McNew and Richard McNew; and numerous nieces, nephew and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16, and continue through service time.

Service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend DuWayne Colvin officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
