Vivian Dolores Calvery, 86, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, in Shawnee.

Vivian Dolores Calvery, 86, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, in Shawnee.

She was born April 22, 1930, to John Henry and Edna (Rickard) Durham in Shawnee. Vivian was raised in Shawnee and attended Shawnee Public Schools. She was a 1948 graduate of Shawnee High School. She married Floyd W. Calvery on Aug. 12, 1969, and he preceded her in death on April 18, 2015.

Vivian worked at S.H. Kress as a window dresser for many years. She later worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a program manager until her retirement. She was a member of Highland Church of Christ in Tecumseh for many years. She loved arts and crafts and was an excellent artist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Calvery; her parents, John and Edna Durham; siblings, Patricia Armstrong, LaVeta Braswell, Cletys Owens, James William “J.W.” Durham and Leta Belle Zellar.

Vivian is survived by her two daughters, Jerinda Davis and Markesa Hamilton; two granddaughters, Kristina Davis and Felicia Davis; grandson, Eli Nixon; and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct.9, and continue through service time.

Service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Erick Henson of Highland Church of Christ in Tecumseh officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
