Library’s Elementary Homeschool Group giving back with quilt project

The Tecumseh Public Library’s Elementary Homeschool Group is giving back to the community this month as it takes on a special project in its next meeting, at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27.

The group, for ages 6 to 12, will be crafting a “no-sew” quilt during the program. Participants will present the quilt to Sunset Estates Nursing Home on Dec. 8.

The library will provide all of the supplies for the project.

Visit the mall for an afternoon of learning about superheroes

The Shawnee Public Library welcomes representatives from Science Museum Oklahoma for an afternoon to Unearth the Powers of Superheroes, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, in an outside-the-library event at Shawnee Mall, 4901 N. Kickapoo St.

All ages are invited to learn the science behind the activities and actions of many of the most popular superheroes from comics, movies and books.

Registration is not required in advance.
