Shawnee police arrested a driver and two passengers after a pursuit went through several areas of central Shawnee Wednesday evening.

Police on Friday released more information about that incident.

Shawnee Police Spokeswoman Vivian Lozano said it was about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday when Cpl. Austin Bizzell attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle displaying a Seminole Nation tag for a left of center violation at Federal and Kickapoo Streets.

Lozano said the driver, who was later identified as Jerry D. Brock, 25, allegedly ignored Cpl. Bizzell’s emergency lights and continued southbound on Kickapoo.

Cpl. Bizzell initiated his sirens and Brock allegedly accelerated and continued southbound on Kickapoo, she said. Cpl. Nathen Helm got behind the driver as he continued south on Kickapoo and passed Independence before turning east on Highland Street, then northbound on Broadway from Highland While approaching Ayre St., she said Brock abruptly swerved left towards Cpl. Helm’s way before going east on Ayre and south on Union. From there, the pursuit went east on Severn, south on Oklahoma, east on Scott Street to Minnesota Street and into a yard on the southeast side of the road, causing him to lose control before he regained control again and continued east.

Brock went east off road at the intersection of Scott and Minnesota into a field, where the vehicle got stuck in brush and mud just west of the railroad tracks.

Lozano said Brock exited the vehicle and ran east beyond the railroad tracks into the wooded area. Cpl. Bizzell later found Brock hiding on a pile of rocks.

Officers spoke with the passengers, Ieasha Evans, 34, and Chaz Moody, 24, at the car, he said. Officers located methamphetamine on Brock and Moody and found some scales in a bag where Evans was sitting.

Jerry Brock was arrested and transported to the Pottawatomie County Public Safety Center on complaints of endangering others while eluding police officer, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, possession of controlled substance and DUS 3rd (Driving Under Suspension).

Chaz Moody was arrested and booked into jail on complaint of possession of marijuana, possession of controlled substance and a failure to appear warrant.

Ieasha Evans was arrested and jailed on a complaint of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Forma charges have not been filed. Brock and Moody remained jailed Friday night.

Case reports will be turned over to the district attorney' office for consideration of any charges.
