David N. Hammons, 54, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 14, 2016.

David Neal Hammons, 54, of Shawnee, passed away unexpectedly and went to be with his Lord Monday, Nov. 14, 2016.

David was born Oct. 3, 1962, in Clinton, Oklahoma, where he spent his childhood before moving to Seminole with his family. He met his sweetheart and love, Jamie Wall, while attending Seminole High School. They married and had seven children: Julie (Chris) Martin, Andy (Baylee) Hammons, Nate Hammons, Libby (Zach) Melton, Kate Hammons, Trudy Hammons, and sweet Emma Hammons. David was beloved “Pops” to Henry Hammons, Kinlee Hammons, Palmer Martin, Millie Hammons, Walter Melton, and Hogan Martin.

David, Jamie, Emma, and Kinlee attended Life.Church in Shawnee. David and Jamie own and operate their family business, Zippdog, working along side Chris and Julie Martin and Libby Melton. David lived his life according to his own words “Work hard, play hard, love big.” David and his family enjoyed quality time together with trips to Disney World, gathering together to enjoy delicious food, and working along side each other running their family business. David had a passion for fishing, hunting, reading, and business ventures. David leaves a legacy of love and will be dearly missed by family, friends, and his mother, Ella Hammons, brothers Sam and Robert, and sister Diana.

David was preceded in death by his father “Brother Bob” and sister Cynthia.

A private family service is planned for Friday morning at Life.Church in Shawnee.
