Shawnee’s Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art will bring the world to Oklahoma on Dec. 2 with España, its annual gala which has a Spanish flair this year.
The gala will be at the museum, 1900 W MacArthur Street, on the St. Gregory’s University campus. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. with Spanish guitar music by Edgar Cruz. The proceeds from the gala help underwrite the educational programs of the museum.
Indulge in divine wines and succulent fare inspired by the tastes of Spain; enjoy exciting entertainment and stimulating conversation with good friends, while supporting the museum’s education programming. Last year’s gala participants made it possible to impact over 15,000 students this year.
The black tie optional event features Spanish-inspired appetizers and main course, sangria, wine, silent and live auctions and a raffle drawing for a vacation get-a-way in Kona, Hawaii; Whistler, BC, Canada; or Park City, Utah. You do not have to be present to win.
The presenting sponsor for the event is First National Bank and Trust Co.
Pablo Picasso sponsors include Chris Rick, State Farm Agent and an Anonymous gift in memory of Ann Simmons Alspaugh.
Salvador Dali sponsors include BDC Gunroom, Cleo L. Craig Foundation, Karen and Michael Mayhall, Shawnee Milling Company, and Lisa and Jim Vernon.
Gala committee members are Annette Stuckey, chairman; Susie Clinard, co-chair; Mary Ellen Martin, sponsorship chair; Jean Lancaster, auction chair; Donna Merkt, decorations chair; April Stobbe, correspondence chair; Helen Craig, publicity chair; Mike Agan, set-up chair, and Sue Shults, clean-up chair.
