Wanda “Kay” Whitefield was born on Feb. 3, 1940, in Duncan to Virgil and Elizabeth Stinnett. She went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Nov. 15, 2016, at the age of 76.

She was preceded by her parents, her husband James “Red” Whitefield, two sisters Vivian Wooliver, and Yvonne Pierce and one brother David Stinnett.

Kay is survived by her eight children: Tami and husband Les Bishop, Nancy Latham, James Whitefield Jr., Sam Whitefield, Jenni and husband Vince Hassen, Connie and husband Earl Sobieralski, Mitzi Whitefield, Jesse and wife Alisha Whitefield, 24 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one sister Helen Smith and three brothers Harmon, Kieth, and Darrell Stinnett and numerous other relatives and friends.

A service honoring Kay’s life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18, in the Church of God Seventh Day, located at 19210 Gordon Cooper Drive, Shawnee, with interment to follow at Schwartz Cemetery.
