Oklahoma City police say a suspect has been arrested for the fatal stabbing of a Macomb man last week in southwest Oklahoma City.

Sgt. Gary Knight said Monday that the suspect was arrested less than a quarter-mile from the stabbing of 24-year-old Roger Lee Mairel III.

According to a Cooper Funeral Home obituary, Roger L. “Bubba” Mairel III was a resident of Macomb. He died March 10.

Police say Mairel was found with stab wounds shortly before midnight last Thursday and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Reports indicate a suspect is now jailed on a complaint of felony murder. While an arrest has been made, formal charges have not yet been filed.

A suspected motive for the stabbing has not been released.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.,Wednesday and will continue through service time.

Family gathering to meet with friends and family will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Home. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Tecumseh First Church of God with Reverend Todd Tiffin officiating.  

Burial will follow at Marrs Cemetery in Macomb.
