Wannah “Jeanne” Bales, 90, of McLoud, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017, in McLoud.

Jeanne was born Sept. 23, 1926, to Richard Monroe and Hazel (Burton) Bohannon in Maud.

Jeanne was raised in Maud and graduated from Maud High School in 1944. She also lived in Shawnee and Oklahoma City before making her home in McLoud in 1971.

She married Dale Bales on March 13, 1945, in Maud, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1999.

Jeanne was a homemaker and enjoyed doing ceramics, sewing and crocheting. She was a member of a bowling league and also enjoyed visiting with her good friends at Walmart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Bales; daughter, Jennifer Thomas; sisters, Rosie Gear and Charlene Anderson; and brother, Floyd Wilcox; great-grandson, Koby Richardson; and son-in-law of 50 plus years, Andre Whitson.

She is survived by daughter, Lynda Whitson of McLoud; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Judy Bales of Sparks and Kelly and Patricia Bales of McLoud; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Morris; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Carolyn Wilcox of Tecumseh; Carmen Wilcox of Waxahachie, Texas; and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, April 22, and from 1 to 7 p.m., Sunday, April 23, and continue through service time.

Service will be 2 p.m., Monday, April 24, at Lakeview Church of Christ in Bethel Acres with Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee; under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
