ASHER – Coach Tari Dubler and her No. 2 in Class A Lady Indians are heading back to the state tournament. The Asher girls won 13-1 over Grandfield and edged Caney 4-3 to earn their spot thanks to a walk-off homer from Tarin Dubler, who went a perfect 6-for-6 on the day to lead the Lady Indians.

In the Grandfield contest, Tarin Dubler, Bailey Larman, Sarah Fleming, Jordan Odell and Gracy Hadley drove in two runs apiece. Madi Hamilton (2-4) had a triple and drove in one run and Rayann Cheatwood (1-3), Dubler, and Hadley each hit a double. Larman earned both of her runs with a two-run shot in the top of the first.

Larman hit another two-run homer in the bottom of the first against Caney and Dubler cranked out a solo shot in the seventh for a walkoff win. Sarah Fleming singled in the third to drive in Dubler for the other Asher run.

The Lady Indians (28-6) qualified for the slow pitch state tournament last year but exited in the semifinal round with a 7-4 loss to Red Oak.
