Jimmy “J.C.” Carol Washburn, 63 of Tecumseh, passed away on Aug. 9, 2017.

J.C. was born on Nov. 21, 1953, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma where he was raised by Jack and Wanda Washburn.

J.C. attended Tecumseh Public Schools thereafter joining the United States Navy where he served a total of six years. After returning home he began working for his father for most of his life as a cars salesman and also at many local dealerships in nearby communities. In his later years, he loved children and drove a bus for the Tecumseh Public School District and was employed by the Citizen Pottawatomie Nation.

In 1996 J.C. became a member of Bethel Acres Assembly and began playing the guitar and singing on the worship team, but most importantly J.C. gave his heart and life to Jesus Christ. He was currently a member of Grace Community Church in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, where he pursued his passion playing the guitar and singing the old Southern Gospel songs. J.C. was adventurous, carefree, easygoing and never met a stranger. If you knew him, you knew his love for his family, music, and Johnny Cash.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jack Washburn, sister, Suzie Washburn, and his infant daughter, Madison Lee Washburn.

J.C. is survived by his mother, Wanda Washburn, Enid, Oklahoma; three brothers, Bobby Jack Washburn, Phoenix, Arizona, Dale McCallie, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Larry Jack Toney, Hennessey, Oklahoma; three sisters, Brenda Phares, Enid, Oklahoma, Mindy Anthony, Harrah, Oklahoma, and Rita Canfield, Norman, Oklahoma; four sons, Michael Bryant Washburn, Shawnee, Samuel Jerome Washburn, Shawnee, Jimmy Carol Washburn, Shawnee and Jamison Cash Washburn, Shawnee; two daughters, Elizabeth Marie Washburn, Shawnee, and Emily Dawson June Washburn, Shawnee; five grandchildren, Brooklyn and Michael Washburn, Samantha and Lauren Washburn, and Riley Washburn; and many uncles, aunts, family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 17, at Grace Community Church, 808 E. Highland St, Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Services will be conducted by Rev. Lonnie L. Hurst and Angela L. Phillips. Arrangements under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
