Tommy J. Dodson, 55, of Tecumseh, passed away Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, in Tecumseh.

Tommy J. Dodson, 55, of Tecumseh, passed away Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, in Tecumseh.

He was born March 15, 1962, to Edgar L. and Mary J. (James) Dodson in Oklahoma City.

Tommy was raised in Oklahoma City until the fourth grade, when his family moved to Tecumseh. He attended Tecumseh Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1980 from Tecumseh High School.

After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged. After returning from the service, he moved back to Tecumseh, where he has since made his home.

Tommy worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a jet engine mechanic for 13 years until his retirement.

He loved working outside, especially with horses at the horse ranch and going fishing.

He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Tecumseh.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar L. Dodson.

Tommy is survived by his mother, Mary J. Dodson; extended family and friends.

Service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Tecumseh Pentecostal Church of God with Pastor Fred Owens of Tecumseh Pentecostal Church of God, Reverend Johnnie Churchwell and Reverend Ronnie Churchwell officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
