Driving under the influence of drugs was the listed cause of an injury crash Monday morning on U.S. 177 north of Garrett's Lake Road and about three miles east of Dale in Pottawatomie County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
A 1991 Oldsmobile driven by Tyler L. Woodall, 26, Oklahoma City, was southbound on U.S. 177 when the vehicle departed the roadway to the left and struck an embankment to a private drive, stopping in a ditch, the OHP said.
Woodall was transported by REACT EMS ambulance to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he was admitted in guarded condition with head, trunk internal and external injuries, the OHP said.
His passenger, Kenneth G. Bringar, 25, McLoud, was not injured. The driver's condition and cause of the collision was listed as DUI-D, the patrol noted. Seat belts were in use by the passenger.
The crash as investigated by Trooper Tyson Wright, assisted by Trooper Troy Thompson, as well as the McLoud Fire Department and REACT.
