Tena Jill "Spicer" Houser, born March 1, 1958, in Shawnee to Jerone Lee and Christena Hope Spicer, passed away Dec. 13, 2017, in Ardmore.

Tena Jill "Spicer" Houser, born March 1, 1958, in Shawnee to Jerone Lee and Christena Hope Spicer, passed away Dec. 13, 2017, in Ardmore.

He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1976.

She married Boyd Houser on Jan. 4, 1977.

She graduated from Murray State College in 1978 and from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a BS in Education and a M.Ed in School Administration in 1986.

She spent 17 years at Tishomingo Elementary School and spent five years at Fairview Elementary in Sherman, Texas, seven years as principal at Coalgate Elementary in Coalgate, and the past seven years as the Middle School Principal at Madill Middle School before retiring June 1 of this year.

Boyd and Tena have two children: Chrissea Jackson of Tishomingo and Chanet and Keith Huckaby of Altus; five grandchildren: Charlee Jackson, Case Woodall, Carter Huckaby, Bentlee Thomas, and Kennedy Huckaby.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Kookie Spicer.

She is survived by her father, Jerone Lee Spicer, and sister, Jimmee and Virgil Mangus, brother, Jerone Lee Jr. and Julia Spicer, sister, Jan and Tommy Harman, brother, Jeff and Connie Spicer, and brother, Toby and Brenda Spicer.

Services will be held at Tishomingo High School Gym at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 17, under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Tishomingo.
