What a blessing from our Lord, with His gift of such a beautiful day, after such a terrible evening the day before, which was down to twenty-three degrees in the afternoon! Well, thankful for the sunshine today and warmer temperature, brings out the best in all of us, even our pets. I know my Lucky Dog didn’t want to go out last evening, but this afternoon, he has taken a nap outside on the mat at the front door, all in the sunshine. Isn’t it a wonderful gift of God’s creation of the sun, which gives us light and heat, filling us with such radiance and joy.
All the mothers of small children truly understands about a sunny day, as things can really get in a mess when all are inside and can’t go out to play. But, it is the same with adults, when they can’t go shopping, out to eat or go to the Senior Citizens’ Center for some games and maybe a meal of two, since they serve both breakfasts and lunches.
Well, I am sure that many of you have taken out photograph albums or other record keeping books and got you a cup of coffee or a glass of tea, and decided to spend the afternoon or evening doing a lot of reminiscing. That is what I have done this past week, with all of my souvenirs of my trip to Italy, Greece and Israel. I took a lot of photographs and put all the materials for each country with the photographs, and I just spread them out on the large bed in the spare room, and enjoyed recalling each day from each photograph. Those are precious memories and are filed away with those other precious memories of loved ones that have gone on before. But, you know something, after being all over the Holy Land, I feel at peace about the loved ones that have gone on before me. Have you ever thought about the call that will ring our Royal Telephone from Glory. I know one thing, we better be ready to go, as He won’t be giving us any time to pack a bag, change our habits, or make it all right with Him, in every aspect of our life. So, since that ole man Lupus is bothering me this week, and I know it is male, because these bones ache too bad to be a sissy! I have been doing some extra time in prayer, as when one is hurting, it draws out thoughts to a higher level! Therefore, I am closing with this thought, of us having effective prayer. That was focused on in Isaiah 65:24 “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”
