LC Melton, 90, of Augusta, Kan., passed away, died March 8, 2018. Visitation 5 to 7 p.m.  Sunday, March 11, 2018, and service 10 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2018 both at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, Kan. LC was born December 12, 1927 in Boswell, Okla. to his parents Allie Melton and AnnaBell (Shelton) Melton who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Opal Jean (Clark); son, Mark Daniel Melton; two brothers, Billie Gene Melton and Charles Edward Melton. LC graduated from high school Boswell, Okla. in 1945. He served two years in the U.S. Army, and five years in the reserves. He received a bachelor’s degree at SE State College, Durant, Okla. and master’s degree at OSU, Stillwater, OK. LC taught Auto Mechanics at Jay High School from 1955 to 1967 and NEO A&M college in Miami, Okla. for 19 years where he retired in 1986. LC is survived by: son David (Marjorie) Melton of Augusta; two grand-daughters: Charissa (Mike) Williams; Chara (Brian) Skahan; six great-grandchildren; Michah, Caleb, Josiah and Chloe Williams; Bryce and Conner Skahan all of Butler Co, Kan.
