Hadley Freeman, a medical student from Shawnee, received medical residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in General Surgery.
Freeman was among 79 fourth-year medical students participating in Match Day 2018, March 16, at Wichita Botanica. During their fourth year, medical students interview with residency programs for training opportunities in the medical specialty of their choice.
The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita is nationally recognized as a pioneer in community-oriented medical education. Of the 79 soon-to-be graduates, 32 will be staying in Kansas.
Approximately half of this year’s graduates will go into a primary care field (family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics).
