Blue Zones Project® in Pottawatomie County hosted a ribbon cutting celebration that honored Action Physical Therapy on achieving designation as a Blue Zones Project Approved™ Worksite.

This approval is largely due the employer’s decisions to make sustainable changes that help to make the healthy choice the easy choice for their employees and patients.

Action Physical Therapy completed multiple policy changes to restrict on-site tobacco usage, create a designated space for nursing/working mothers, and allow employees to wear active wear at work to encourage natural movement. In addition, implementation of hourly micro-breaks for employees are a few of the many pledge items completed to achieve this approval.

Brought to Pottawatomie County through an innovative sponsorship by the Avedis Foundation in collaboration with Sharecare, Inc. and Blue Zones, LLC, Blue Zones Project is a community-by-community well-being improvement initiative designed to enable community members to live longer, happier lives with lower rates of chronic diseases and a higher quality of life.
