Charles David Nelson passed away Friday, March 30, 2018, in Spring, Texas, following a short bout with pancreatic cancer.

Charles David Nelson passed away Friday, March 30, 2018, in Spring, Texas, following a short bout with pancreatic cancer.

He was born Sept. 13, 1938, in Shawnee to John and Frances Nelson. He was the youngest of eight brothers and sisters, each preceding him in death: John Jr, Francis, Robert, Lorrine, Maryetta, Betty, and Virgie.

Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Mary Louise, one son Dr. David Nelson and his wife Sherri of Cypress, Texas, their four children Christopher and wife Frankie, Brittani and husband Luke Lerick, Matthew Nelson and Bradley Nelson; also his grandchildren: Niko, William, and Lacie.

Mr. Nelson had a long work life with W.S. Bellows Construction in the accounting department, retiring in 2000.

During his young life in Tecumseh, he was involved in football, basketball, track and baseball. He also loved the game of golf. He graduated in 1957.

Also surviving is his brother in law George Cope and wife Erona, their sons Dan, Mike, and Kevin.

Graveside services will be in Shawnee June 1 at 10 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.
