Pleasant Grove Public Schools will be able to send more kids on field trips and to athletic events with the arrival of their new bus June 25.
The bus was bought using county education sales tax funds and was approved by the Pottawatomie County Commissioners in February. The commissioners allowed the purchase from Ross Transportation for $80,942.
The new bus, which is blue and white, seats 71 passengers, superintendent Scott Roper said.
Roper said the district is too small for bus routes. Students must be located about 1.5 miles away from the school in order for a bus route to be established.
The district already has one bus that seats 44 passengers. Roper said the district will use both buses and there is not a plan, or need, to buy more.
Roper said Perfection Graphics in Oklahoma City donated the decals for the new bus.
