Two teenagers are in police custody after an overnight shooting at home on SH 18B in Lincoln County that the sheriff said involved a murder plot to kill the entire family.

As a result, a 15-year-old girl who lived in that home, along with her 18-year-old boyfriend, Zachary Shane Sligar, of Shawnee, are now in police custody, said Sheriff Charlie Dougherty.

According to a release from his office, they received a 911 call about 12:01 a.m. this morning from Sherman Crneckiy about a shooting at his address, 344714 E Hwy 18B, Chandler.

"Our first unit was on scene at 12:11 a.m., the EMS and Fire Department was dispatched at that time for a 56 year-old female that was shot in the face and hand," he said.

Sligar, who was later apprehended by the task force in Shawnee, told investigators that he is the boyfriend to the 15 year old female at the residence. He had told deputies that earlier in the evening, the 15 year old had conversations with her mother, Beverly Diane Crneckiy, about her going through the process to become emancipated, Dougherty said, with that conversation ending with the mother's disapproval.

"The investigation led investigators to believe that the boyfriend, Zachary, and the 15 year old female plotted a triple homicide," Dougherty said, to occur after everyone went to bed, the sheriff released in a statement, alleging that Sligar was going to shoot and kill both the mother and the father of the female teen.

The 15 year old female was to shoot and kill her older sister who stays in a travel trailer on the property, the sheriff said.

Minutes before midnight, Zachary arrived at the home and met with the 15 year old girlfriend and they decided to go forward with their plan, the sheriff reports.

"Both armed with handguns, Zachary entered the mother and father's bedroom shooting at the father first and missed," Dougherty said, then shot one time at the mother striking her in the face and hand.

Since Zachary missed the father, Dougherty said he fled the home and returned to his residence in Pottawatomie County, where task force officers took him into custody. The OSBI was contacted to assist with the scene in Lincoln County where the 15 year old was taken into custody.

The investigation is still ongoing. The Sheriff’s Office, OSBI, and task force are serving search warrants at both locations.

An update on the mother's medical condition is awaited.
