Shawnee Animal Welfare rescued an injured owl early Thursday morning by the airport walking trail.

Marjorie Kibbe of Shawnee and Mona Ridley of Tecumseh noticed the injured fowl on the trail near the Expo center and called Animal Welfare when they noticed the bird had a hurt wing and could not fly.

Within minutes, Officer Woody reported to the scene to capture the injured animal and take him to safety.
