With football season finally starting and softball in the heart of the season, several area athletes had elite performances this weekend.

Kristin Haddox and Tatum Sparks– Shawnee Lady Wolves Softball

In Shawnee's 11-10 victory over Guthrie, Haddox went 2 for three with a grand slam in the sixth inning. Sparks followed suit in the bottom of the seventh with an inside the park grand slam. In two games Saturday, Haddox recorded five hits and Sparks chipped in three.

Caden Wolford – Meeker Bulldogs Football

The sophomore running back had a breakout performance carrying the ball 26 times for 207 yards and three touchdowns in Meeker's 32-6 win over Luther last Friday. His longest run was a 75-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Wolford sacked the Luther quarterback twice in the win.

Trenton Skinner – Shawnee Wolves Football

Skinner recorded 10 receptions for 158 yards and two touchdowns in Shawnee's 35-34 overtime loss to Choctaw Friday night. Skinner caught his first touchdown in the third quarter. His second came in overtime.

Kylee Lynch – Chandler Lady Lions Softball

Lynch recorded back-to-back shutouts in Friday's action at the Prague Tournament. Both of the shutouts were no-hitters, including an eight-strikeout performance against Spiro and a five-strikeout game versus Bristow. Lynch tossed another shuout in the 3-0 win over Chisholm Monday night.

Ashley Kasterke – Shawnee Lady Wolves Softball

Kasterke helped Shawnee to a second place finish in their pool at the Carl Albert Varsity Tournament last Friday. Her stat line read 22 kills, 18 digs, three aces and two blocks.

Heath Hunter – Shawnee Wolves Football

Hunter and the Wolves were one point away from forcing a second overtime with Choctaw Friday night. Hunter finished the game with 215 yards passing and two touchdowns. He added one rushing touchdown in the loss.

Delanie Manning – Dale Lady Pirates Softball

Manning pitched a one-hit shutout beating Edmond Memorial 9-0 at the Oklahoma State Festival last Friday. She struck out six batters in the win. Manning hit two home runs in the doubleheader vs. Luther Monday night. Dale won 12-0 and 19-0 in those games.
