A Shawnee man charged with first-degree murder, deliberate intent, in connection with a January 2017 shooting death at Chapel Ridge Apartments has waived his right to a speedy trial, which pushes his case to the December docket.
Prosecutors charged Antonio Maurice Sambrano, 18, with the single count in Pottawatomie County District Court. He is accused in the shooting death of Isaiah Anthony Harjo, 27. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner concluded Harjo died of a gunshot wound to the chest, with manner of death listed as a homicide.
The shooting occurred at Chapel Ridge Apartments, 130 E. 45th Street. It was just before 1:30 p.m. Jan. 4, 2017 when emergency crews responded to a shots fired report at building 11, with reports indicating the shooting occurred in unit 11-F, where Harjo reportedly resided.
Harjo was transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he died.
Sambrano remains jailed without bond.
