HARRAH — Sophomore Tatum Sparks unleashed a two-out, two-run triple in the top of the seventh inning Friday to propel Shawnee past Harrah 4-2.
The three-bagger drove in Kali Kasterke, on base via an error, and Saidey Smith, who reached base on a single, to break a deadlock at 2.
Joining Sparks in the SHS two-hit column were Kristin Haddox (double, single) and Brittany Harmon (two singles).
Shawnee finished with nine hits.
Victorious hurler Stormee Reed, a freshman, permitted eight hits, fanned five and walked three. Harrah’s second-inning run came on a bases-loaded walk.
Shawnee stranded seven baserunners.
“Our problem right now is we are stranding runners in scoring position,” SHS coach David Rolette said.
Shawnee, 15-6 overall, will travel to Pryor Saturday for a 1 p.m. matchup. Pryor is atop the District 5A-3 standings at 8-0. Shawnee is second at 7-2. Pryor defeated Shawnee 3-1 earlier in the season.
